A Tribute to A Living Legend - Sri.AL.Mutiah on His 91st Birthday

As we approach a momentous occasion on the 25th of October, we celebrate the 91st birthday of our beloved Chairman—a guiding light and an enduring source of inspiration for the MAL Group. Today, we honour not just a leader, but a man whose vision, wisdom, and unwavering dedication have shaped our group of companies for decades.

For those of us, who have had the privilege to work under his leadership, we know him not only as a chairman but as a beacon of perseverance and integrity.  His steady hand and remarkable foresight have navigated the MAL Group through some of its most challenging times, and his commitment to excellence has set the standard for us all.  Even at 91, his enthusiasm for progress and passion for our industry is unparalleled, a testament to his boundless energy and love for the work he has devoted his life to.

As we celebrate this milestone, I want to take a moment to personally express my deepest gratitude. Thank you, Sir, for your tireless efforts, your invaluable mentorship, and the legacy you continue to build every day.  Your influence goes far beyond the walls of our organizations — you have inspired us all to aim higher, to think bigger, and to always believe in the potential of what we can achieve together.

I am truly blessed to have witnessed two significant milestones in your life—your 60th birthday in Kottaiyur, 31 years ago, and now, your 91st birthday today.  I still vividly remember your Shashtipoorthi celebrations, where my wife and I were honoured with a specially woven Chamundi silk saree, dhoti, and angavastram.  My wife still treasures that saree in her cupboard and wears it passionately on special occasions.   As for me, I proudly wore the dhoti and angavastram during the Ayudha Puja celebrations at IPP for many years.

Last year, we had the privilege of meeting you, and I was blessed to interview you about your incredible journey.  During our conversation, I mentioned that you had gracefully transitioned from being a Senior Citizen to a Super Senior Citizen, then to an Octogenarian, and now a Nonagenarian.  Furthermore, there’s only one milestone left to achieve—Centenarian!  We are all confident that you will reach this milestone with the same grace and wisdom that has guided you this far.

On behalf of the entire MAL family, I extend our heartfelt wishes for a long, healthy, and happy life. May this year bring you continued joy, of seeing the MAL Group flourish under the foundation you so passionately laid. We take a pledge today - to continue your legacy and carve a niche under the leadership and torch bearer of MAL Group - Mr.Gappan!

It is apt to conclude by saying – You are Precious to us - Mr.Chairman!

  GoSavvy Goes Global!!! We had planned to take a one-week break and approached Mr.Abhijit Bhandari, who heads our travel vertical – GoSavvy . No sooner had I mentioned our plans than the GoSavvy team took complete charge, requesting a free hand in planning and scheduling our travels.
